Liberia former international track Star, who
is also a medical doctor, based in the
United State of America, Dr. Grace Dinkins,
has finally rescued the government and is
has footed the bills of the Track & Field
team to participate in the World Youth
Championship in Morocco.
She has already paid a staggering of
US$10,000 for the athletes’ per diem, air
ticket, jersey, among other materials that
the athletes need to adequately represent
the country in the continental event.
The Liberian delegation comprises the
coach, four athletes, and the Secretary
General of the Liberia track and Field
Federation.
Athletes who are expected to leave the
country for Morocco today are Timothy Kollie
and Korlolo Robert for the 100/200 meters
event, and female Alice Tiklo and Dyrlen
Allen for the 100/200 meters event, and the
head track and field coach Fredrick
Massaquoi.
Speaking to our sports desk on recently,
Dr. Dinkins said athletic was her game and
as such developing potential youths in this
area was her major concern.
According to her, the youths of the
country have the talent, especially in the
area of athletic, but they only need the
support to excel.
She maintained that Liberia has the
talent in the area of athletic, and vowed to
continue her support to them in a bid to
make their dreams and aspirations come
through
Dr. Dinkins, who has established a track
and field Club in the country, called
Liberty Athletic Club (LAC), has further
indicated her dream to see that Liberian
track athletes be on par with not only
athletes in Africa, but also the world at
large.
Madam Grace Dinkins is expected be in
morocco to inspirer the athletes’ team.
Reporter gathered say athletes, who are
making the trip are said to be in high for
this year World Youth Championship
competition in Morocco.
The LAC boss has meanwhile urged Liberian
youths to remain focused during this crucial
time. Dr. Dinkins presently sponsors over
twenty Track and Field athletes in both high
schools and colleges in the quest to begun a
professional Track Star. |
