Lone Star Seeks Another Coach

Begins Training Soon

Liberia FA has announced that it has opened up application for Coaches of the National Team. Coaches interested in taking charge of the team are to send their application to the local football house.

The likes of Wilfred Tijani Lardner, Vavah George and Frank Jericho Nagbe stand as favorites to succeed lowly rated tactician Joseph Sayon alias Kofi Bruce.

Lone Star Seeks Another Coach

The Lone Star will shortly begin training in preparation for her joint 2006 Nation Cup and World Cup qualifying match against the Eagles of Mali in Bamako early June.

Reports gathered say funds for the training will be released by the Ministry soon.

Coach Joseph Sayon alias Kofi Bruce along with administrative Manager Wortor Anderson are to submit a list of about twenty-five players to begin training for the duel.

And, as the LFA National league rages on, there are certainly some new discoveries would be included on the national team, as the team is to parade a predominantly home based squad for its remaining four matches in the competition.

The likes of Eric Weeks and Saygbeh Kennedy of Roots, Nuzohn Kulala of Mighty Barrolle, Rufu Golafaley of Monrovia Breweries, David Tweh of LPRC-Oilers, Robert Teah and Federick Nyemah of NPA-Anchors are expected to blend effectively with the likes of Shelton Barlee, Aloysius Pennie, Abu Sando,  and James Koko Lomell.

Others talents expected to be given a call up include Pascal Karblee, Melvin King, Patrick Gwarnu, Isaac Tondo .

And, as the training date draws near the question is whether Captain Varmah Kpoto will get a call up as he is yet to feature for any club here in the league.

The yard stick for player’s selection to the National team should be based on current form, but that has never been the case with Liberian football, which gives reasons why the team performs so lowly.

Since Kpoto is currently unattached, why should he be selected? One die hard follower of the Lone Star said, adding that, if Kpoto is selected then there is no merit system.
