The Joseph Sayon-led technical staff has
named an 18-man squad for the weighty duel
against the Eagles of Mali at the Omni
Sports Stadium in Bamako.

Liberia has no hope technically |
Though both sides are virtually out of the
competition, thus making the tie academic,
it is still highly important judging from
the collection of players on the respective
teams.
The Lone Star squad includes four foreign
base players, and is expected to leave the
country today.
Arcadia Toe, Godfred Miller, Sekou Keita
and Bob Zeo are the four foreign players
that have been called in to stiffen the Lone
star.
Zeo, who featured permanently for Ghanaian
side Hearts of Lion in the fresh Ghanaian
Premier League, is reportedly on trial in
Egypt and indications of his making it to
Bamako look lifeless.
Godred Miller who is from the United States
certainly looks unconvincing, but is making
the trip in the name of foreign base.
Pundits are furious about his injection and
are calling for his immediate ejection.
The other two foreign base players are Sekou
Keita and Arcadia Toe. The former featured
in the Lone Star humiliating 6-1 defeat to
Senegal. He is a bit technical, but lacks
the pace and gumption in going forward.
It is not clear though where he is
playing, as reports say he has surfaced in
Senegal leaving his base in Morocco. The
Latter is no doubt a resourceful striker.
He is a team player and is certainly a
product of modern day football. The
Dubai-base striker would indeed be an asset
to the team.
The 14 locals making the trip include:
Goalkeepers: Saydee Swen and Melvin
King of LPRC-Oilers and Gedi Shoes
respectively.
Defenders: Captain Varmah Kpoto Mighty
of Barrolle, Sackey Doe of Invincible
Eleven, Shelton Barlee and Patrick Gwarnu
are representing LPRC-Oilers.
and Aloysius Pennie LISCR F.C
Midfielders/Strikers: Gizzie Dorbor,
LISCR F.C, Bill Paytoe Invincible Eleven,
James Koko Lomell LPRC-Oilers and Abu Sando
Mighty Barrolle. Rufus Saydou
LPRC-Oilers, Prince Garwo NPA-Anchors and
George Miller Mighty Barrolle.
Several players have been dropped with
LISCR F.C defense ace George Weah, and
Invincible Eleven danger man Kalifa Kromah
being the surprised dropped out.
As usual, the team leaves the
country without a deputy coach, leaving
Joseph Sayon and the highly experienced
Administrative Manager Wortor Anderson with
technical duties.
Reports gathered say the Malians will be
parading players from their youth team, who
have made head ways in African and World
youth football.
The likes of Dossima Camara, Bangul Keita
and Ousmane Dieng are top on the list. Both
Liberia and Mali are seated at the bottom of
the group with 4 and 2points respectively. |
