Death has struck again and it has struck so
hard! This time it is the most admired
basketball star of K-Deltas fame, and
Captain of the National Basketball team,
Amanda Wreh.
The news has gone wild and far and those
who knew Amanda have been weeping and
beating the chest questioning life’s
circumstances as why “such a good female
entertainer could pass off so quickly
leaving memories of splendid performance
that have won her fame.

Amanda Wreh - Has departed |
But such was the situation and Amanda
would no longer be seen nor heard of.
But
her friends of the K-Deltas squad are
mourning and those of the other rival
basketball teams are also shedding their
tears for a lady who set a good example of
commitment to the sport she loved and played
so passionately.
Information in the grapevine has that
friends of Amanda and authorities of various
basketball clubs are contemplating some sort
of memorial tourney as a way of remembering
Amanda, who many called “Amando”.
One basketball fan said: “All I can think
about right now is her move on the court and
the she attacked seriousness to the game as
if she had everything to lose.”
John Mulbah, staunched admirer of Amanda
is still in grief and what he could say was:
“Life if unfair!”
One female basketball player who visited
The Analyst yesterday wondered why people of
good model should be taken so quickly. “I
was shock. I could not believe that "Amando"
is gone for good. I am so sorry and really
do.”
A referee, who talked to The Analyst
yesterday, Eric William, said the Liberia
Basketball Federation was thinking about
what it could do.
The story of how Amanda died is still
a painful experience. She is said to have been
suffering from a growth that had bothered
her
for a long time before she decided to do a
physical (take operation) to have it
removed.
Hardly had the doctors at JFK tried to
remove the growth when player Amanda gave up
the ghost.
The Sports desk of The Analyst weeps with
those are weeping for Amanda and sends out
condolence to the family of departed player.
May her soul rest in perfect peace and light
perpetual shines on her. |
