Promising To Pay Over US$10,000

Liberia former international track Star, who is also a medical doctor, based in the United State of America, Dr. Grace Dinkins, has rescued the National Transitional Government and is footing the bills of the National Track and Field Team to participate in the World Youth Championship in Morocco.

Speaking to our sports desk on Tuesday, Dr. Dinkins said athletic was her game and as such developing potential youths in this area was her major concern.

According to her, the youths of the country have the talent, especially in the area of athletic, but they only need the support to excel.

The Liberian former ingenious track star said she believes that Liberian athletes can do what other track and fielders in Africa and the rest of the world have done.

“Our Athletes are committed, but we only needed to put our hands them so that they can develop like others in the world,” she said.

She maintained that Liberia has the talent in the area of athletic, and vowed to continue her support to them in a bid to make their dreams and aspirations come through

Dr. Dinkins, who has established a track and field Club in the country, called Liberty Athletic Club (LAC), has further indicated her dream to see that Liberian track athletes be on par with not only athletes in Africa, but also the world at large.

She is presently sponsoring four athletes and Coach to participate in the events in Morocco.

Those athletes are Timothy Kollie and Korlolo Robert for the 100/200 meters event, and female Alice Tiklo and Dyrlen Allen for the 100/200 meters event, and the head track and field coach Fredrick Massaquoi.

The trip is put at US$10, 000, which will include tickets, per diems, the punching of jersey, among other things for the team.

On how she sees the present leadership of the Liberia Track and Field Federation (LTFF), Madam Dinkins, said that much was needed to be done to improve the game of athletic in the country.

She noted that there were lots of fingers pointing among officials of the federation as to how they are running the day to day affairs of the federation.

The LAC Chief Executive said that such behavior was unhealthy for the smooth running of the federation.

According to her, if athletic should improve in the country and that the authorities of the federation should be the first to take the lead.

When quizzed whether she may want to come and contest for the forthcoming LTFF election, she quickly responded that politics was not her interest, but rather developing the talent of the youths of the country was her major objective.

On her trip in August this year, she noted that coming to Monrovia in August was her desire to see the present condition of her club as well as family matter.

Dr. Dinkins asserted that one of her priorities was building a vibrant institution that will help to develop the youths of the country.

“I want to see myself molding the minds of the youths and topping their talents through athletic,” she noted.

Speaking on the issued of Liberia’s long distant track and field athlete, Bill Roger, who is under her sponsorship in the United States, Dinkins said Bill was doing fined and in colleague.

She has disclosed that Bill has moved on camp due to the summer so as to prepare for the World Junior Championship, though Bill may not seem too well as it is said he has sustained serious injuries that could rule him out of the forthcoming competition in Tunisia.

The LAC boss has meanwhile urged Liberian youths to remain focused during this crucial time.

Dr. Dinkins  presently sponsors over twenty Track and Field athletes in both high schools and colleges in the quest to begun a professional Track Star.
