It is often said that when one loses the presidential bid for the nation, he or she is paralyzed from achieving his developmental goals but the developmental example being set by the two time standard-bearer of the All Liberian Coalition Party (ALCOP), Alhaji G. V. Kromah is mind boggling to say the least.

During the past year, the veteran politician undertook initiatives geared at helping various communities through the construction of infrastructures that now usher relief to residents as well as the country as a whole.
Amongst the projects carried out include the construction of the Gulinda River Bridge that connects Montserrado County with Bomi County in the Lower Zor and Suehn Mecca Districts.
To ensure overall technical standards, the politician sought and obtained the supervisory support of the Ministry of Public Works, the line ministry that is responsible for long impact structures for community use.
The Professor of Mass Communications at the University of Liberia also constructed a fourteen room community clinic along with a physician’s quarter in Wonnie-Ta, Bomi County.
Also, the former Director of the Liberia Broadcasting System (LBS) completed the construction of the King Sao Boso Community Store, where household goods are sold in that rural outpost at prevailing Monrovia rates.
This is despite the transportation cost incurred from Monrovia. But much more he has done in terms of providing zinc sheet for the changing of thatched roofs in that part of Liberia.
Besides, the politician has also mobilized residents in some parts of that county by telling them that from the age of eighteen upwards they must undertake farming for self sufficiency.
In view of his achievements during the course of the year 2007, The Analyst Editorial Department met and selected Mr. Kromah is the Politician of the year 2007. See pictorial on Mr. Kromah’s developmental activities on page 11. |
