1st House, 9th Street - MONROVIA, LIBERIA
May 1, 2008
In the wake of the current increase in armed robbery attacks on defenseless citizens, especially assaults such as raping and wounding of women and senior citizens, the Council of Coordinators of the sixty-four constituency of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC) do support calls by its Representative Hon. Edward Forh to make armed robbery a non-billable offense.
The submitted bill and subsequent petition made by Hon. Forh and his District #12 constituents to make Liberia free of gangs and harden criminals are in the best interest of a national security drive to help maintain the peace and security of the Liberian state.
We therefore call on the Liberian Legislature to speedily pass into law the draft bill seeking to make armed robbery non-billable and we do call on the nineteen CDC lawmakers to demonstrate their full support for the bill with an absolute affirmative vote.
Meanwhile, the Council of Coordinators of the Congress for Democratic Change will be bestowing highest honor upon Hon. Edward Forh for ably executing the political policy of the party.
The Council believes that the passage of such bill into law will serve as a universal remedy for some dreadful crimes, thus creating an enabling environment for Liberians and investors.

Manneh George, Chairman |
